Dear Culinary Directors, Executive Chefs, Head Chefs, and Human Resources / Training & Development Managers, The ICCA Dubai Culinary Scholarship Program, the One Million Dirhams Continuing Education Award for the UAE Young Industry Chefs, the first-of-its-kind innovative industry education initiative undertaken by the International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA Dubai) in strategic partnership with the Emirates Culinary Guild (ECG), City & Guilds, London, and the Worldchefs, achieved another significant milestone this year, as it marked the eighth consecutive year of this Making Lives Happen initiative. So far, 183 young Industry chefs have been professionally trained and empowered with an internationally recognized culinary qualification valued at over USD 2 Million. The scholarship program for the UAE Young Industry Chefs is about changing the lives of those selected and, at the same time, helping support the industry with a quality workforce aligned with the needs of the future. This smart education approach ties back to the Government of Dubai's broader vision of developing a Knowledge-based Economy. We are delighted with the outcome of the scholarship program on the candidates, with most of these graduates having exceptionally improved in their delivery at the workplace, with many getting promoted, and several others on the path to becoming leaders in the culinary pace.
