Dear Culinary Directors, Executive Chefs, Head Chefs, and Human Resources / Training & Development Managers, The ICCA Dubai Culinary Scholarship Program, the One Million Dirhams Continuing Education Award for the UAE Young Industry Chefs, the first-of-its-kind innovative industry education initiative undertaken by the International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA Dubai) in strategic partnership with the Emirates Culinary Guild (ECG), City & Guilds, London, and the Worldchefs completed another significant milestone in the year 2022. The graduating class of 2022 was the seventh consecutive batch of this empowerment- through-learning initiative that started in 2015. Last year, thirty-one young chefs joined the inspiring cohort of 156 graduate chefs who passed out over the last seven years. Through this program, 156 young chefs have received an International Vocational Qualification(IVQ) worth USD 6 Million. We are delighted with the outcome of the scholarship program on the candidates, with most of these graduates having exceptionally improved in their delivery at the workplace, with many getting promoted, and several others on the path to becoming leaders in the culinary pace. Like the editions before, all candidates will undergo the intensive ICCA Dubai – ‘Diploma in Advanced Culinary Arts - Cookery / Baking & Patisserie, City & Guilds, UK Level 2 IVQ – Diploma in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts – Food Preparation (8064-01) / Patisserie (8064-02), recognised by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority- KHDA, Government of Dubai. The program graduates will also be eligible for the ‘WorldChefs Certified Professional Cook’ under the WorldChefs Global Certification Scheme. The scholarship program for the Young Industry Chefs is about changing the lives of the selected chefs and, at the same time, helping support the industry with a quality workforce that will be fully equipped to meet the industry needs of today & tomorrow.

ICCA Dubai Culinary Scholarship Program The objective of this Innovative Education - Industry Training Initiative is to annually train and support around 40 numbers of talented & deserving, but financially underprivileged young chefs in the Industry through an Annual Continuing Education Award. The program will be delivered over 52 Weeks, as a Day Release Course & Training at ICCA Dubai’s state of the art, purpose built and award winning training kitchen facilities. Norms for Candidate Selection & Industry Commitment to the Program: a. Selection of Candidates The ICCA Dubai Culinary Scholarship Selection Panel will select candidates from the UAE Hospitality Industry based on the following norms and criteria. i. Applicants need to be - Young Chefs in the UAE Hospitality Industry, less than 30 years of age at the time of application. ii. Candidates who are - Talented, Committed, Truly deserving, with potential to Grow but Financially Underprivileged and are required to be nominated by their Executive Chef. iii. Who have - Good Communication skills - Read, Write & Speak English Well. iv. Who Possess - Work Experience - 3 years or more as a Commis Chef, preferably having worked all around the kitchen. v. To Present - All supporting credentials and recommendations, as asked for. vi. To Clear - Personal Interview with the Selection Panel for Final Selections. | Page 09

ICCA Dubai Culinary Scholarship Selection Panel: A selection panel constituting of the following members will oversee the selection and execution of the ICCA Dubai Culinary Scholarship Program - Chef Andy Cuthbert, Mr Sunjeh Raja, Chairman, Emirates Culinary Guild Director & CEO, ICCA Dubai Chairman, Young Chefs World Chefs Chef Uwe Micheel, Ms Shanaaz Raja, President, Emirates Culinary Guild Director of Courses, ICCA Dubai b. Industry Commitment The ICCA Dubai Culinary Scholarship Selection Panel will seek a formal Written Commitment from the respective employers in the Industry, for their employee enrolled in the Scholarship Program i. Commit - One Day towards training - For this Day Release Training Program, this will be addition to the weekly day off. ii. Provide - Basic conveyance allowance to the candidate for the duration of the program. iii. Ensure - The candidate regularly attends the program and is not granted annual leave during the training period to help complete the program. | Page 11

It is a non-profit-making organization dedicated for the advancement of the culinary industry in the country and stages several national and international events, and competitions, annually. Supported by the ECG, Who's Who from the UAE & International Hospitality industry, are invited to support the initiative as Guest Trainers to help enrich the students with Industry Knowledge & best practices. ICCA Dubai Continuing Education Award: Giving back to the Community! Support the initative... ICCA Dubai commits more than AED 1 million each year to identify and train talented and deserving, but financially underprivileged, young chefs from the UAE. Further, many organisations and establishments from the industry have expressed interest in supporting even more Scholars to benefit from the Continuing Education Award.
